Hal is managing shareholder of Gibbs, Pool, and Turner P.C., a full-service law firm in Jefferson City, MO. Hal serves as General Counsel and is responsible for leading corporate and tactical legal initiatives for established and cutting-edge companies within a range of industries that operate throughout the Mid-West. Hal personally concentrates his practice in the areas of Business Organization Formation and Governance, Employee/Employer Issues, Health Care/Physician Group Practice and Compliance, Real Estate Transactions, and Estates and Trusts. This concentration developed through the representation of a substantial number of businesses and business owners, taking them from the formation stage, through operations, to business succession for the owners and their families. Hal's experience and knowledge is recognized regularly by many of his clients but also in his request to serve on their respective board of directors. For instance, Hal serves on the Board of Directors of Winter Dent and the Central Trust Company Advisory Board. In 1992 Hal received the Missouri Bar Association’s Tom Cochran Award for outstanding community service and professionalism. He is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association. Hal participates as a member of the Missouri Bar Association and is a former chairman of the Missouri Bar Business Law Committee. He has frequently been a speaker for the Missouri Bar on the topic of business organizations. Hal is a native of Jefferson City. He received his bachelor of business administration degree from Southern Methodist University in 1984 and his legal degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987.
